4405 performs outstanding, as advertised…

The official photo of 4405, the new 2007 American LaFrance 100-foot ladder truck recently purchased by Station 44, The Seaside Heights Volunteer Fire Department.

4405 performs outstanding, as advertised: The check has been cut, and The Borough of Seaside Heights is now the official owner of a 2007 American LaFrance 100-foot ladder tower truck. Loyal readers will remember that the $790,000 truck has a 2,000 gallon per minute capacity, twice that of its predecessor, a 1989 88-foot ladder. After looking at many trucks, this model was purchased based on its modern conveniences, including an advanced leveling system to quickly adjust the multi-ton truck to unique angles to precisely deliver its powerful blast of water. When the truck was demonstrated by American LaFrance reps last week, word was that the vehicle was performing outstanding, and as advertised.

Seaside Heights firefighters responded to this call in Ortley Beach on the chilly evening of Friday January 25, 2008.

Station 44 reports to a fire in Ortley Beach: On the chilly evening of Friday January 25, 2008, Station 44, The Seaside Heights Volunteer Fire Department responded to the report of a potential structure fire at a condominium complex near 1st Avenue and Bay Boulevard in the Ortley Beach section of the Township of Toms River. The unit is occupied by summer-and-weekend-only residents, who fired up their heating system this cold first night of the weekend. Shortly thereafter, the distinct smell of smoke permeated the unit, and authorities were alerted. Upon arrival, a team from Station 44, led by Chief James Samarelli, isolated the smell, which was determined to be from burning wood under the furnace. The smoldering material was extinguished in short order. In addition to Station 44, fire squads from East Dover and Ocean Beach were dispatched, but were canceled before arrival.

Sixteen Candles sign makes Girtain website…

The LED artwork created for the showing of Sixteen Candles in July 2007 as part of Movies on The Beach in Seaside Heights is one of the examples of creativeness on the Girtain sign website.

Sixteen Candles sign makes Girtain website: Everything that is complicated seems to always arrive on July 5th in the Borough of Seaside Heights. For the Office of Public Relations, early July 2007 saw the launch of not one, but two systems simultaneously: the new blow-up screen for Movies on The Beach and the new red LED sign that graces the entrance of the Borough at Sumner Avenue. Both of these items required a big learning curve, and hours of study and practice with not a lot of time to do either. Although it has taken the P.R. office months to finally get the red sign’s message sequence down to a science, one of the first things ever done to it has been memorialized. Quite early, it was realized that clip art and images could be creatively added, and the very first example of this was the artwork created to promote the showing of the movie Sixteen Candles as part of the beach movie series. So impressed with this was Girtain Sign, the company that sold the sign to the Borough, that they snapped the sign with this image, and now display it prominently on their website as an example of creativity. Thanks Girtain!
