‘One Life to Live’ plans to film in Seaside Heights…

ABC Daytime Drama ‘One Life to Live’ producers John Tumino and Brian O’Meara are seen scouting locations for a planned March filming.

One Life To Live plans to film in Seaside Heights: Producers of long-running ABC-TV Daytime Drama One Life to Live were in Seaside Heights last week scouting locations for a planned March filming. John Tumino and Brian O’Meara from OLTL applied last week to the Office of Public Relations for a permit to film on Monday March 24th and Tuesday March 25th. (The producers were happy to learn that the Seaside Heights Borough Hall is full of longtime OLTL viewers and fans.) The producers were seriously considering using the Kearney Avenue Lifeguard Headquarters, a.k.a. the 2002 MTV Beach House, for the shoot. Although the script is not even written yet, the storyline will follow one of the younger characters working and summering on the Jersey Shore, working at an amusement facility. OLTL is set in the fictional city of Llanview, Pennsylvania, across the river from Pine Valley, the fictional city where ABC’s All My Children is set. These cities are said to be suburbs of Philadelphia, so it follows logic that Seaside Heights, founded by Philadelphians, is an obvious choice as a close Jersey Shore getaway for OLTL characters. Many things are up in the air, but one thing is definite. Actress Erika Slezak, who plays Victoria “Viki” Lord Riley Burke Riley Buchanan Buchanan Carpenter Davidson, an often-married soap opera matriarch with many personalities, and main character of OLTL for-life, will not be appearing in any of the proposed location shoots in Seaside Heights.

Joann Duszczak, Mayor for a day…

Seaside Heights Council President Joann Duszczak is seen as Acting Mayor at the February 20, 2008 meeting.

Joann Duszczak, Seaside Heights Mayor for a day: 2008 Seaside Heights Council President Joann Duszczak has been in the position for only a few meetings this go-around, but has already taking the helm as Acting Mayor. The only extra responsibility that the Council President has is to run the meeting in the Mayor’s absence. Mayor Hershey could not make it to the meeting February 20th, so Joann took over his duties. This particular meeting was short and there was a small turnout from the public, so it wasn’t too much effort. However, Joann could probably handle anything. In 2001, another time when she was the Council President, she had to preside over a summertime meeting with an extra-large turnout from the public regarding a then-controversial topic.
