PETE returned to full health just in time to pose with over-the-top, and seventh-consecutive year plunger Howard “Howie” Moore of Trenton, at the 2009 Law Enforcement Polar Bear Plunge, February 28, 2009.

Howie was one of 3,300 plungers that braved ice-cold water, on an ice-cold day to raise about a million dollars for Special Olympics.

Pete was able to get great pictures from a top the massive 4405, the 100-foot aerial truck
obtained by Station 44, The Seaside Heights Volunteer Fire Department, in early 2008.

GOOD THING PETE’S STRENGTH WAS UP, as the next two days, March 1st & 2nd, 2009, Seaside Heights saw the largest snowfall since 2003.

Untimely passings this year include many…

William “Billy” Polhemus, Jr. the son of the Sheriff and Agnes Polhemus, died as a result of a road accident in Tennesee, March 1, 2009. Ironically, Billy survived a previous car accident that nearly took his life in his youth.
