Nickstera…

June 29, 2008

Nick Walters is a top manager at Playday Amusements on the Casino Pier as of the Summer of 2008.

Nicksteria: Recently, our cameras caught up with Nick Walters. Nick has worked his way up to a top manager at Playday Amusements, owned by Doug Woodfield. Among a certain set, the rise of Nick is being refered to as “Nickstera” and sometimes “Nicktopia”, but to a much lesser degree. In the above photo, Nick is standing in front of the Bamboo stand, which was his idea. Nick is often seen in attendance at New Jersey Amusement Association and Seaside Heights Business Improvement District events.

June 29, 2008

Mrs. Elizabeth “Ebby” King is seen at her new position at the Seaside Heights Tourist Information Center.

Ebby King joins Public Relations team: The newest member of the Seaside Heights Public Relations team is a familiar face, Mrs. Elizabeth “Ebby” King of Seaside Heights and Florida. Ebby started her new duties on June 25, 2008. Ebby’s responsibilities will have her working in the Webster Avenue Tourist Information Center Thursday through Sunday, answering questions and making loudspeaker announcements. The job is perfect for Ebby, as she has a good speaking voice and is knowledgeable about Seaside Heights. The job’s timing is also perfect for Ebby, as it does not begin until she arrives back to her Seaside Heights home from her Land O’ Lakes, Florida home in June. Snowbirds Ebby and husband Don plan to return back to Florida right after Halloween.

Ptl. Hans leads outstanding flag-folding detail…

June 29, 2008

Seaside Heights Police Patrolman James Hans is seen as he prepares to present a folded flag to Chief Thomas J. Boyd, part of the recent funeral services of Captain David L. Szalkowski.

Ptl. Hans leads outstanding flag-folding detail: An intergal part of the recent funeral services of Seaside Heights Police Captain David L. Szalkowski was the folding of the American flag covering the coffin, and its presentation to the family. Leading the team for this duty was SHPD Patrolman James “Jamie” Hans. The flag had to be folded with military precision, and Ptl. Hans took the responsibility very seriously. Ptl. Hans appeared very tense during the folding, but later explained that the look of tension on his face was caused not only by emotions, but also how hard he had to tug the material to make the flag fold just so. Once the flag was folded, Ptl. Hans presented it to Chief Thomas J. Boyd, and Chief Boyd presented the folded flag to Captain Szalkowkski’s son, Leo, 14.
