Seaside Heights students walk for Capt. Dave Szalkowski…

Seaside Heights students will hold a walk June 4th for SHPD Captain Dave Szalkowski, who recently underwent a double lung transplant operation:

Seaside Heights students walk for Capt. Dave Szalkowski: Students from the Hugh J. Boyd Jr. Elementary School will hold a walk-a-thon June 4th to benefit SHPD Captain Dave Szalkowski, who recently underwent a double lung transplant operation. School officials said, “In the spirit of “Making a Difference” and “Giving Back to The Community”, students and staff will be sponsoring the walk-a-thon.” All students will around the school and adjoining baseball field during the school day, and friends, family and neighbors will “sponsor” the walkers. The school is also accepting donations, which can be dropped off at the school, 1200 Bay Boulevard, as school policy does not allow students to go door-to-door.

LOOKING NIFTY AT FIFTY: To celebrate the Material Girl turning the big 5-0 this day, a birthday party with cake and refreshments beginning at 6:30 p.m. will be followed by a special triple feature of a selection of Madonna films: Desperately Seeking Susan, Who’s That Girl? and Swept Away. Event will include Madonna music, and a “Madonna Wannabe” look-alike contest as well. Inclement weather will move the evening’s events indoors to the Seaside Heights Community Center
