Miss Lindsay Jones, intern at the Seaside Heights Office of Public Relations, is seen assembling some of the nearly 1,000 lights that will adorn the Christmas Tree on the front lawn of the Borough Hall in Seaside Heights.

Come one, come all to the Seaside Heights Christmas Tree lighting, which will be held Monday December 3, 2007 at 7 p.m. on the lawn at Borough Hall, between Sherman & Sheridan Avenues along the Boulevard. Our tree, which has nearly 1,000 colored lights and special decorations made by our local school children, will be lit by Santa Claus, who will arrive aboard an SHFD firetruck. After Santa turns on the lights, he will unveil the latest top secret wooden holiday display, which has been made especially for our lawn by talented local artist Al Poane. Following this, guests will head towards the back of the SHFD firehouse, where hot chocolate and cookies will be served. During this time, children will be able to line-up, and have a chance to visit with Santa Claus.

Hugh J. Boyd School Art teacher Nancy Corsaro is seen preparing the many glittering snowflakes made of popsicle sticks for the Seaside Heights Borough Hall lawn Christmas Tree.

Thanks Nancy Corsaro: Once again, Seaside Heights Art teacher Nancy Corsaro has come up with a great project for her students to share with the community. Over the past few weeks, students have been gluing together popsicle sticks in the shape of snowflakes and then adorning them with sparkling glitter. These will be used as ornaments for the big Borough Hall Christmas Tree, which will be lighted Monday December 3rd at 7 p.m. It is hoped that the glittery items will add to the sparkle of the tree. When the tree is lit, students get to see their efforts in use. Boyd School students have been making decorations for the Borough tree for over a decade. The practice was began by Mrs. Shannon (Omert) Asch, who is now at Washington Street School in Toms River, and was continued by Nancy Corsaro when she took over the position in the late 1990’s.
